The Reality Show MTV roadies
MTV Roadies currently in Season 6, is a reality television show aired on MTV India. The show was created by Raghu Ram and is hosted by Rannvijay. “Roadies has travel, adventure, drama, touch of voyeurism…” said Raghu Ram, when asked about the show. The maximum prize for winning the show is Rs 500,000.
Selection Procedure
Auditions are held in various major cities in India. People who turn up for the audition are made to undergo a group discussion, following which, selected candidates are chosen for personal interview conducted by Raghu Ram and Nikhil Chinapa. The interview round is deliberately acrimonious to test the participant’s attitude, tolerance and patience levels. In the first two seasons, 7 Roadies were selected. Since then, this number was increased to 13. Season 6 will feature 20 Roadies for the first time. There is no limit as to how many times a person can audition
Format
The selected thirteen Roadies are given Hero Honda Karizma bikes to travel on a pre-decided route. Each episode features a vote-out at the end in which the roadies eliminate one of their fellow roadie, thereby decreasing the number of roadies carrying on with the journey.
Each episode consists of number of tasks or challenges which they have to perform. These tasks can be either “Money tasks” or “Immunity tasks”. In the “Money tasks”, the roadies add cash to their account on successful completion of these tasks while in “Immunity tasks”, the team which wins gets Immunity. The team which attains Immunity becomes safe from vote-out i.e its members cannot be voted-out in that episode. The above mentioned tasks are either team-based (ie performed between two or more teams) or individual-based (ie performed one-on-one). At the end of scheduled journey, the last roadie who survives till the end is declared the winner and walks away with the total cash accumulated by performing the money tasks. The fifth season is the first time when an advantage task is introduced. The winners of an advantage task get some advantage in the vote out, which may include multiple votes or being the only one to vote in the vote-out.
The Indian version of the show is based on the original MTV reality show Road Rules which started in the yea.

November 20th, 2008Music Festival
A music festival is a festival oriented towards music that is sometimes presented with a theme such as musical genre, nationality or locality of musicians, or holiday. They are commonly held outdoors, and are often inclusive of other attractions such as food and merchandise vendors, performance art, and social activities.
Many festivals are annual, or repeat at some other interval. Some, including many rock festivals, are held only once. Some festivals are organized as for-profit concerts and others are benefits for a specific cause. The some of the musical festival are the Chembai Music Festival, Saptak Music Festival, Thyagaraja Music Festival, Sawai Gandharva Mahotsav.
Another type of music festival is the educative type, organised annually in local communities, regionally or nationally, for the benefit of amateur musicians of all ages and grades of achievement. While entrants perform prepared pieces in the presence of an audience which includes competitors, the essential feature of this type of festival is that each participant receives verbal and written feedback, there and then, from a highly qualified, professional adjudicator - someone who they might never meet in any other way. They also usually receive a certificate, classified according to merit, and some may win trophies. The competitive element is often played down, however, as the important aspect is that participants can learn from one another. Such festivals aim to provide a friendly and supportive platform for musicians to share in the excitement of making music. For many they provide a bridge between lessons & examinations and performing confidently in public.
